We have to accept players will be bought and subsequently sold, we cannot expect every signing to make our first team squad
It is a great money maker at times....
Good evening Ladies and Gents,
Today I just want to pen my opinion on the news that Omari Hutchinson is up for sale and not on the loan market this summer.
Firstly, you all know my love for Omari, I followed him so closely this season and saw him live multiple times, he has real potential. BUT, I do not believe right now that he would be ready to step into the first team.
He has the potential to do so long term but with the likes of Palmer and (potentially) Olise I am not sure he gets to the levels of those 2 in the next year or so whilst both of the aforementioned have incredibly high ceilings (as does Hutchinson) and will still develop and improve further.
On to the actual financial structure and predominantly the reason behind this news. For someone like Omari who Chelsea barely paid a penny for 2 years ago to then receive 25m for would be an astonishing piece of business in isolation.
We cannot be buzzing about the 105m signing of Enzo or the signings of Palmer, Gusto, Nkunku, Lavia, Chukwuemeka etc etc etc if we do not accpet that the books HAVE to be balanced elsewhere.
The likes of Cesare Casadei, Deivid Washington, Angelo Gabriel and probably Lesley Ugochukwu will go the same way, signed for reasonable fees and sold on for profit as well as many many more. Not talking about Cobham players here…..
I personally am okay with the structure as long as we aren’t losing money on these players, its a subjective topic that everyone will have opinions on, I would rather sell 2 Omari’s than Gallagher if you put it in isolation like that.
I hope everyone understands what I am trying to say, I am interested to hear all of your opinions on this matter and if you have any better examples than me then please put them in the comments.

yeah not everyone will make it here... so players will be bought and sold. The problem is the players who should be sold are not being sold as it will be an admittance by the SDs that they mucked up on some of the transfers.
Fair statement. I would still give him a chance given the winger situation we are in. I would give up on Sterling and try to sell him for the sake of 1 season trial for Omari! My point is if we really give enough chances to our top prospects. History knows many examples of missing talents going to other clubs and thriving there.
