This could’ve been a much better pole if we’d also put the sale price in for those that are departed. That would give the full picture of those that I’ve left CFC.

An improved version would show the cost net of sales or loan fees.

It's an interesting one. To me, I'm basing hits on three things: success so far, profit, and if I think the value was fair.

I put Nkunku and Koulibali as hits for that reason - didn't work out due to injuries and lack of time for KK imo, but I think we paid a fair price for them. I went jury's out for Fernandez because I don't think he's worth 106m in the PL, even though I like a lot about his game. Maybe unfair on him, because he's playing well.

Many players like Lavia, Anselmino, PaezI'm still unsure on just because of their injuries. We've hardly seen him.

Only real misses are when they've really stank the place out or cost insane amounts of money (or because we signed the fuckers twice...)

53 players for 7-8 transfer windows!!! Ughhhhhhh don't even know what to say. This just doesn't say any good. Wholesaling players is dreadful.

That was fun to do, maybe I need to come back in as a SD I could not do any worse

I took successful as being either sporting or financial. It’s cynical but as it stands with our limited matchday income and tighter financial regulations, flipping for profit is unfortunately part of the modern game.

The problem is a lot of the misses we made a profit on when we sold them so does that make them a hit?

Very interesting. Found myself trying to determine what I thought was successful. In business terms some were a success as we managed to flip them for profit. Although I guess true success is becoming a mainstay in the first team.

If the outgoings come up ask if you'd want them back too.

To me, it's not a question as to if the player is any good or not, but rather what happened with the transfer. Arguably, Felix loan was better than his transfer. To me one was a bit, the other wasn't, even though the player is the same. Equally, Tosin is a hit to me because he cost nothing and has come up with a few goals, and looked like what we needed when he did come in. He'll also generate some £ for us if and when he does leave.

Would be goof to have one for outgoings too and maybe have a good value/bad value option

Find it interesting that many put Carney down as a miss. He never got the chance to hit the ground running for us after the injury and Frank leaving but he looked promising for us until he was pushed out the door.

Also don’t know why people are calling Veiga a miss, he was sold for a good amount of profit and the only reason he didn’t work out was because he was unhappy being played in a position he didn’t want to play.

Carney was a miss for us. I was a fan but he played about 180 first team minutes. That can’t be a hit even if he was Pele.

JordanF's avatar

This is just straight up untrue. He had 350+ minutes in 22/23, 254 in 23/24 and never got a chance after Lampard left then was pushed out the door.

And is a substitute for Dortmund getting 10-30 minutes a game according to what I read. I was a fan of carney but he is yet to get to Chelsea level.

Agreed. Carney could be a top player but it looks like injuries will prevent that. Veiga should be a hit as he was sold for profit. Decent enough, but wanted to move on to play regularly.
