I’m sorry but you have rose tinted spectacles on and as ever with stats they don’t tell the whole story. The club is at a tipping point particularly financially and if they don’t get it right which they very often don’t we will see where we end up. It’s not the Abramovich days when we could just spend our way out of trouble. I’m 66 and remember a few relegations and it feels the conditions are aligning for that. What is so annoying about this is it’s all self inflicted. At the moment the whole club is just not fit for purpose.

Nice to see a level headed, clearly thought out non reactive piece. Recently it felt like everyone had lost the run of themselves.

It's shite right now. We all know that. But shite this season does not mean shite next season.

I would argue the rot started back in Conte and Jose's second seasons and was covered up by a few nice prizes popping up from almost nowhere. But has certainly been worse now.

I agree with everything you said. Protest sure. But next season feels like it will be a reset for us. So when we get there, back the team. No excuses. A negative crowd does affect the team, how can it not. Let's see what happens.

Good to read this. Obviously none of us know what the future holds and I don't think anyone's claiming what's happening now is pretty. But great to hear something on the positive side. Most fans of other teams I speak to just think we're a few signings from becoming a strong side. Not doomed to become extinct in a couple of years

As I read your article @TheScore I was worried about what comments you may have received. Once again you put forward logical arguments without being naive and I was expecting a deluge of negative comments. Fortunately, there was only three or four comments at the time of this and as expected, they were the type of negativity I was anticipating. What you say makes a lot of sense when you take the obvious passion and die blue attitude away from us as supporters and look at it from a more logical perspective. Thanks for the alternative outlook

No Europe a possibility? 🤣🤣

It is an absolute racing certainty. This squad is so poor, and mentally far weaker than the one Lampard took over in his second spell. We have already scored our last point. And City dropping points yesterday means no chance of a weakened team in the Cup Final. Arsenal will be over the line by then.

These positive comments from some baffle me. It’s all happening in front of their eyes. It’s like MAGA supporters they only believe what they want to. It’s BlueCo PR.

One day you will realize that we are in a mess both on the sporting and financial side.

One thing you can be sure about is these guys financial prowess. They don't get where they are with Clearlake without that. They don't take stupid financial gambles. You can be sure of that.

Sporting mistakes. Sure. But not huge financial ones.

Our finances paint another story…. But yeah they are good at it 🤦‍♂️

They won't lose money on Chelsea - that is the only thing we can be confident on. If they sell us in 4/5 years, they will make a huge profit.

No he won’t, he’ll continue to stick his head in the sand like an ostrich and say that even though we’re fighting relegation “it’s not all that bad!” All while telling us how to be proper fans and to “support the club” no matter what…

He’s off the deep end, mate.

The figures regarding the wage bill are completely wrong. Even if we accept it's a 20% cut across the board. It's a 20% cut on this season's wage bill not the 2024/2025 season that you quoted. Therefore a 20% cut would at best guess mean next season we go back to a similar wage bill to the one for 2024/2025

Probably somewhere in between when you account for the fact that in that intervene period we have also removed some high earning wages from the plain side, a.k.a. Sterling
