I wouldn't describe it as England and Tuchel "Bottling it" Si, if they hadn't bolstered the defence and still lost you and others would have said that was wrong.
A manager has to do what he see's in front of him i.e. a wave after wave of Argentina attacks.
What undid us was even with the extra defenders a gap in the middle of defense no one was covering which we got away with several times but tbh honest one of the defenders should have been in that gap filling it.
Tuchel wasn't expected to get us to the semi's as a first attempt it was excellent and better than Southgate who only got to the QF last time out.
Onwards to the European Championship and I say this:
Tuchel has been refreshing he turned England into a Unit and without the woke philosophy of Southgate, and frankly I've been impressed.
Sorry Andy there was only wave after wave of attacks because after we scored we went deeper and deeper into defence with no outlet. You can do it for 5 or 10 minutes but not over 30. 9 times out of 10 you will lose. It may not have been Tuchel’s fault but the mentality of the players but with 6 defenders on what else do you do. He was negative and the players were happy to buy into it.
Nick I'm talking about the last 20 minutes when the defensive subs happened before that we had our chances and tbh when great crosses came into the box and there were some no one was there to receive them our players were standing on the 20 yard line watching..
He reacted to what he saw whats the point of bringing on attackers if every ball out goes to an opposition player anyway.
Quite simply our defense was lumping the ball out without any thought of where it went.
We still could have caught them on the break when they committed so many to the attack and nearly did several times.
The Aston Villa lad wasted one chance when we had 3 vs 2,Kane who was clear i think it was to his left and the lad hit the ball high and wide.

Of course I'm talking about Morgan Rogers.
