Double Dutch Player Profiles: Jorrel Hato & Xavi Simons
Oranje is the New Blue.....
Good Morning Ladies & Gents,
What a crazy 48 hours its been, it has lead to Chelsea being incredibly close to completing TWO new signings and arguable completing our required outfield additions for the summer 2025 transfer window.
I am super impressed by the way Chelsea are going about their business this summer, it seems cool, calm, collected and ruthless!
Jorrel Hato
Player profile;
Age: 19
Nationality: Dutch (6 caps)
Position: Left Back & Centre Back (Left-footed)
Height: 6ft 0in
Hato is a versatile defender, with a huge amount of potential, highly rated amongst Europe’s elite clubs and scouts, he was signed to Sparta Rotterdam at just 7 years old, he moved to Ajax at 12 years old and has been there ever since.
Across his senior career he has a real split of appearances between Left Back and Centre Back, with 88 appearances at LB and 70 at CB.
He is an extremely progressive defender with his passing numbers being amongst the best in Europe and his pass completion in the top 1%.
A perfect player for our squad, Maresca loves versatile players, he will be perfect cover for Cucu and able to cover Levi as well.
Verdict;
The type of singing I love, cheap, under the radar, perfect squad player and super potential.
I think this is a top signing IF we get it over the line. Perfect cover for Cucu and to be able to cover at CB as well will give him loads of minutes.
Xavi Simons
Player profile;
Age: 22
Nationality: Dutch (28 caps)
Position: Attacking Midfielder / Left Winger
Height: 5ft 7in
Simons is a special player with incredible ability and a massively high ceiling. This is the first time for a while we’ve signed a ready made star. The likes of Caicedo, Plamer etc are obviously stars but they have grown so much since being in a Chelsea shirt. Simons is already a star and I think he will come in and hit the ground running.
Xavi started his academy career at Barcelona where he joined at the age of 7. He then spent the next 9 years in La Masia before a move to PSG at the age of 16. He spent the next couple of yours in the PSG academy before making his first team debut at the age of 17 in a Coupe de France fixture. in 2021/22 he was included in the first team squad by then manager Mauricio Pochettino but only managed 9 appearances in all comps.
The following season really ignited Simons career, at the age of 19 in summer 2022 he decided to head to Holland on loan and to PSV where he played 48 times, scoring 22 goals and getting 11 assists.
PSG decided to loan Xavi out again for the 2023/24 season whilst still only 20. He went to Leipzig and scored 10 goals and got 15 assists in 43 games. Leipzig made the deal permanent last summer, the 24/25 season bought Xavi’s first ever injury in to play, which kept him out for 15 games between October and January. It didn’t effect him post injury he was back to his brilliant best. He ended the 24/25 season with 11 goals and 8 assists in 33 appearances.
Here are some stats to show his real qualities;
His numbers are scary!
Now onto the eye test, these clips show off his ability;
Verdict;
This will be a super signing, a real top player with elite level talent.
One thing I love which you wont ever see spoken about with Xavi as it goes so under the radar is his defensive work rate and his off the ball work. He is a real all rounder!
I cannot wait to see him link up with Palmer and Pedro!!
