I wonder if anyone read the admission from the Spurs hierarchy that football wasn’t at the top of their list in terms of importance and it certainly showed. It feels like we are on the same trajectory. Alonso isn’t a miracle worker and without the right conditions he won’t succeed.
I’ve got to the stage where I think anything this board does such as appointing Xabi will be corrupted and turn to dust. I still struggle to understand the actual governance of the club with respect to board and football directors and who holds responsibility for decisions. You can not continually hire and fire coach/manager roles and not realise some of football directors are culpable for bad decisions and for not understanding the limits of their supposedly data led approach. If the Xabi term of management fails, I fear the future of the club as a Premier League club will finish under a tsunami wave of debt interest payments and relegation.
