Penders is not ready yet.

Derry needs a loan. Barco and Quenda havent yet kicked a ball in the PL

Gusto, Neto, Jackson need to be sold.

In the end it will come down to Reece availability, if Palmer can re-discover his old form and if JP continues to support him. Plus the likes of Levi and Caicedo. Estevao has had a huge injury so he would need to be eased in. Everyone else is dispensable and can be upgraded.

Just shows how bad and expensive job the SDs have carried out in the last few windows.

Most of that 17 players would struggle to get on Arsenal’s bench let alone first team. Two of our best players are leaving and we won’t even get equivalent replacements for them. It’s still Strasbourg and potential (kids) and a player that couldn’t wait to leave the club. I heard all this positivity at the beginning of last season and where did we finish. The squad is miles away from being competitive.

Once again, a great article mate, personally I really enjoy reading your articles. They are well balanced and come for me thoughtful perspective. I tend to agree with most of what you have said and I believe that with the acquisition of between three and four players we have sufficient quality to ensure we get a Champions League place next season and potentially a good cup win that might actually lead to a victory. Let’s not forget that most of those names you have listed got us Champions League football last season. You’re right patience is required and I know that’s a word that’s not particularly like by many but in a World Cup year it is always going to be a slow opening to a transfer window. It’s the same every four years and even the European competition between the two World Cup has a similar effect, although it’s closer to home. It would be interesting for you to do a follow-up article to this after the end of the window and you can look back and compare your thoughts with the realistic closed

I’m certainly not panicking about transfers because I really can’t imagine them getting it right or close to. The 17 players you named will not get a champions league spot I’m afraid. You will eventually be saying next season after some games we are just not good enough and another rebuild. I’ll be dead before they get it right.

Gusto MUST be an exit, dreadful attitude and consistently under performing during H2 of the season. As a season ticket holder in the MHU Ive been able to scrutinise his lack of positional awareness and defensive qualities ( or lack of ) on a weekly basis. He is simply not good enough when compared to previous Legends such as ‘ Dave ‘ or Ivanovic. Gusto Must Go !!!

Great article and I agree pretty much all of it. I couldn't see Santos in either list ........ I would keep by the way although I fear he will be sold.

great article . The squad looks good enough to get the objectives , however u mentioned 3 positions we should sign players in and would love to know who u recommend to get or ideally would like to see at chelsea.

It’s London Brighton model if the money comes they will be sold. We don’t have a good 22 or even first 11 team, hence the need to churn players in and out

If you are building a squad over 8 windows you keep your best players happy and see progress, there needs to be a plan one that makes sense going forward

We are where we are and it’s in a big pickle.com, Egghead and his appointed SDs really screwed up, we have to trade to buy so let’s see after the summer if we have the looks of 100point team

Personally I would not trust this lot with my kids piggy bank we need some accountability and I’d want to see the SDs gone for good

Some people on here are deluded or blinded by BlueCo PR. Those 17 are just not top four/five.

Great article.. also Lavia breaks my heart too. Always wanted him to work out

In would keep him one more season. If he stays fit then he's going to be worth more. Even better if he stays for and is the player we need him to be, we keep him.

Hi The Score.

I have one concern and that is that at every summer window we arrive at the players by number that we need to sell rises.

Currently it's a whole squad and some on the bench as well.

GREAT article and insight to the next month/window & future.

Gusto and Neto need to be two of the first out of the door. And Derry is nowhere close to ready I'm afraid.

Agree about Gusto and Neto but not about Derry

If Neto would keep hIs head up while dribbling and pass the ball in the middle instead of just dribbling down the field, being boxed in and forced to pass backwards, he'd be ok. A big if. Maybe our new manager can work on that. Neto has the speed and moves he just needs direction.
