Looks like I was right 🥲 but at what cost

Thank you, a truly insightful and valuable article, something most of us would never have the time to research and access and as real value.

Having looked at everything you’ve produced and the clips Kellyman seems to be a serious option. One wonders if Aston Villa will sell him, if they see him as a replacement for Duran.

One question I would ask of you, ignoring our first team needs at this present time, which one of these in your opinion would fill the gap we have in our under 18/21s

Why raid Villa’s academy when we have a strong one of our own?

Reports are that Villa basically cannot spend any money this summer because of PSR. They need to sell about 7.5m to cover the first year of Maatsen's ammortization. It's either 40 on Duran or about 8m on a highly rated prospect.

That’s a really good bit of information and insight over and above everything else we’re reading and clarifies the approach from Aston Villa

Both of these potential deals, Maatsen and an academy player want to be done because each will be pure profit for the clubs. Chelsea want to get Maatsen done soon, because as Simon said they want to Olise to be fit into this financial window. I would expect another pure profit sale maybe too, because I believe based on Fabrizio's statement last night that if Chelsea have to pay the a large chunk of the Olise fee up front, they want to do it this window where they have some financial flexibility due to the hotel and property sales.

Thanks for taking the time to do this 👌

No problem!

Excellent overview ; looks like there is a lot of talent waiting to be unlocked. Hope we can find the right pathways for all our Cobham and other domestic talents a la Hutchinson.

plenty of it. Villa has done a nice job the last couple of years building their academy up.
