I went to my first game in 1967. I missed a dozen home games until 1976. From 1976 onwards at 16 I started going to the away games on my own. Between 76 and 83, the shit years I only missed a dozen games home and away. When I got married and we started having family holidays away, they had to be during the off season. When Sky came along, the first thing I would do when we landed in our resort would be to spend an hour or so trying to find out where I could watch the game. In the past 10 years I have probably missed maybe 2 games a season, either live or on a screen.
This weekend I took the missus away to Marlow, turns out to be a rugby mad town. Five pubs all showing the England Scotland game. I missed the Villa game and you know what I wasn't even disappointed. Got the updates on BBC sport and after half an hour thought great, but let's just wait for the half time talk and 2nd half surrender. My missus said have you seen the latest score? I just shook my head. I didn't even bother asking her who had scored, I knew. A year ago I would have gone ballistic, This time I just asked her what she wanted to drink and we went off to enjoy a Bowie tribute and had a good evening. I can't even let another defeat upset me and that's sad.
I have always had two families since I met my wife and at the moment I don't really care that much about the other one and I hate feeling that way, but just being honest.
These egotistical billionaires will have you believe that they always succeed but often you’ll find they do have failures but they make sure we don’t get to hear about them. Football clubs are unique and not like other businesses and can’t be run the same way. They are too late with the City or Barca model because now it’s more about power and pace and in a few years it will change again. Top managers find solutions.
I'll just say this "The current form is making Poche's management of Chelsea 1st team look world class and a lesson on how to get a tune out of a violin with 3 broken strings!"
Probably a minority here, but I think Clearlake, specifically Eghbali, may not be in it for the money. It might be worse than that. He’s having fun.
Clearlake website currently shows some 49 companies in which they have equity investments. Presumably some degree of control comes along with that. All these companies are supposed to make money, and wouldn’t warrant investment without a perceived probability of that. But the one thing the other 48 have in common is they aren’t fun.
So his actions may not be motivated by profit or even fiscal responsibility, but more so the entertainment value to himself!
And if he won’t listen to Todd or maybe even Jose (what does he do around here anyway?), why would he listen to employees or a gaggle of fans? Unless his board yanks him back to his corporate reality, I don’t what takes to change that mindset.
Do the math. If he spent 1 day at each of his companies equally, we’d see him less than once a month!
yeah they are not in it just for the money... Eghbali is loving the lime light! hence why he pokes his nose everywhere.... been saying this for 2 years now... he is our version of Moshiri

He also has gotten some fame/infamy from this. No one knew Behdad before this, clear to me that he loves being the topic of conversation.
