Any list of gettable CB’s would be subjective in that a list put forward would have us all what about Player A or B why is Player C in the list he is pants and so on.
Perhaps the key initially would be upgrades that stayed fit.
I also agree there were CBs out there that stayed fit and would have improved the defense.
I don’t agree that Wes Fofana is the solution more like he is part of the problem.
We need to cut down on players in the squad that are forever injured or likely to get injured tripping over a blade of grass.

Generically agree with your analysis which, however, lacks the list of excellent players that the much underestimated SD have instead assured the team.
The absolutely very best CBs probably aren't. I'm not a scout, its genuinely not my job to know this. But in terms of top CBs who can improve us and are better than what we have, there's a few out there of the age profile they want. Guehi, Murillo, Schlotterback, Silva for example.
I'd also be open to us signing a more experienced CB of proven quality to help Josh and other young CBs we have develop. John Stones and Rudiger (for example).
Dont think just having 'better' CBs will solve our issues and none of the names you mention are an upgrade on a fit Fofana and Colwill. Trev, BB and Josh are good back ups to have. Problem is the fitness of players like Fofana and BB.
Plus dont pair any of them with Tosin... he makes all of them look worse.
Guehi, Murillo are sideways moves at best... Schlotterback has his own fitness issues and does not look as good in a back 4 as in a back 5. Andre Silva plays in a very avg league so you never know how he will translate over in the PL.
The way we set up and play... our CBs dont get enough protection from the midfield or fullbacks. Its a system and midfield personnel issue.
It doesn’t take a genius to see our issues are in defence. Our best CB is out, our next best can only play once a week. Its not a coincidence that when Fofana started fully fit we’ve kept successive clean sheets.
Tosin needs to go, Badiashile if he can’t stay fit.
The club have spent less than £200m on CBs in 3 years and our second highest CB signing is Disasi. This area of the pitch has been neglected and we’re paying the price.
We’re top scorers in the PL, top creators in the PL, top shot makers in the PL, and have the second most goals from set pieces - all without Palmer or a 9. Goals aren’t a problem, creating is not a problem. Defending is the problem and its a failure from above. All the names I listed are upgrades on Tosin for starters, and possibly even Trev. Badiashile fit and in form, again, we kept two clean sheets. Defence is the issue, and its damn obvious to me.
I do think we were fairly well set up until Colwell injury and by that stage players we may have been interested in had moved on to other clubs.

I do think we could’ve gotten an older experienced CB as a 1-2 season solution while the Sarr and Anselmino have a chance to develop.
It’s also possible that the club thought that Fofana and Badiashille’s injury problems will resolve by now.
Having said that they had 7 transfer windows to resolve this so there’s not much to defend here.
The reality is that there aren't many top centre backs out there. If you look at the FIFPRO team of the year, it's 11 contained only 1 centre back
