I think the asking price for Isak is too much. I will like chelsea to look for someone who will complement Jackson and not someone who will turn him to a second fiddle.

Solanke for me because of the Chelsea DNA, which we will likely lose with the sale of Conor and Trev. He is still young enough and is coming off of a very good season. His path to get to where he is now, has hopefully helped with his maturity, don’t think confidence was ever an issue.

Toney would be my first choice or Solanke both have premier league experience and would help Jackson

Can we kiss and make-up with Romelu Lukaka ...........................

Isak has it all and will get better, as long as he stays fit and on the pitch, can we afford him?

Toney would be good, not sure kids in the club could handle him, will we take a chance?

Dom is a meh OK but I rather he stayed away, the PR coming home spin would be a bit sickening for me then if he does not hit the ground firing in goals it would be a real mess....

Return to Napoli for Osi ?? Can we afford him???

The Barca kid is a real talent however the PL eats up players he would need help if he comes. Where is another duo of JFH & EG when you need them.

Back to statement signings, this is that 4th window of the PLAN, all I see is bank balance statements being the priority, maybe if we moved on some failed signings that cost big money would be a start, I dont see players going out

This article just proves how you can’t please all Chelsea supporters all of the time.

To those of you that think you & only you are correct and everyone else is wrong you’re destined to always be wound up.

Looking at what we’ve got Jackson who matched Drogba’s 1st year scoring record and should push on this year now he has gained experience. Also seems to stay fit which is a tremendous positive.

Nkunku has an eye for goal but last season wrecked by injuries looking for better this coming season. Probably best as a 10 or if needed a false 9.

Guiu comes through Barcelona academy actually a snip at 5/6 million, would expect high technique skills and a clear picture mentally of what’s required as a striker is he another Palmer only time will tell.

We should find a slot in the squad for him and perhaps use him to see out games and cup games.

In an injury plagued season we scored 101 goals if our defense had been solid we would have been in champions league positions and challenging for the title well that’s my belief anyway.

If we must have another striker, if it’s deemed actually essential then I’m in the queue for someone who will add to the team at the right cost and it wouldn’t be an elite elite striker which’s means tops we spend £60 million all in but I’m in the anyone but Toney camp more trouble than he is worth and I’m really not sure he brings anything to the table except his own ego.

Personally I’d spend the money on getting a rock solid defense and get rid of the defensive driftwood Disasi in particular and bring in an elite defender to stiffen up the spine of the team.

But we have Fofana i hear you say, will he stay fit i reply?

Jackson, Nkuku and give the coach a chance to assess the Guiu, DW, DDF and Richards. What's the rush? Scored plenty last year without Nkuku for most of the season.

We need a point of difference, someone who can give us a more direct option. A 28 year old Olivier Giroud would be perfect. As we don't have a time machine, and based on similarity to him I'd suggest Jonas Wind of Wolfsburg - not a goal machine but the slot in the squad isn't 'goal machine', it's 'alternative option to get us up the pitch and bring people into play'. I'd also not turn our noses up at Tammy - across 250 career games he's a goal every two games, which is a little below his xG. He's a good all round striker and about a thousand times more effective than a more aesthetic João Felix type.

I'm just going to comment on the names we've been linked with, and put them in order of player profile / ability and then my preferred option based on the likely fee.

Isak - absolutely top class, but insane fee. Not going to happen

Ferguson - perfect stylistic fit, great stats, young, PL proven, fee would be too much

Duran - chaos merchant, strong, great shot, fair price

Calvert-Lewin - cheaper option, good underlying stats, has abilities none of our other strikers have

Omorodion - similar to Duran IMO

Solanke - decent option but maybe not exactly what we need

David - decent player, but nothing special

Toney - avoid like the plague IMO for any number of reasons

Beier - not cut out for PL football whatsoever

Got to go with Tooney Premier League experience and a natural leader.

I think our best option would be Alvarez. He would be able to drop into midfield like Maresca likes to do it during build up. He also is a Premier League proven goalscorer and a winner.

I'm just reading the comments.

Isak

Watkins

Solanke

Oshimen

Gyokores..

NONE I repeat, NONE are getable, under our own new owners policy

It will be £40 million or under.

As for Tammy Abraham?

Do me a favour.

My god! Talk about a massive step backwards.

So currently, we are stuck with an 18 year old with no experience at a Top level.

Nicholas Jackson, who misses chance after chance.

Thats our strikers who will be expected to fire

us back into the Top 4.

It's almost like , we are on another suicide mission to fail miserably again!

If there’s a deal to be done for Isak you do it. Already proven to be performing at a high level in the premier league. He’s not even at his peak. He elevates us. I’d be confident with Isak. The other strikers we’re linked with make me think is it worth waiting for another shot at Sesko next summer.

I wouldn’t spend over 50 million for any of them and far less for others. Sorry but I’m losing interest given we are on maybe the fourth or fifth choice now. Looks like they are going to buy another 18 year old Guiu. Actually watching England has reminded me how hard it has been to enjoy watching Chelsea for so long. We need some experience and personality in the team.

Darren Smith's avatar

Being realistic Luke.

And being totally getable.

Toney for £40 million, would do for me.

Anybody costing more than that, is simply unobtainable.

I would go big on isak.

Brings qualities Jackson does not have.

Jackson can play with him also if he went out wide. Gives us a different option with the height as we can put crosses into him.

If we are going to spend big on any position, then a striker has to be it.
