As you well know, Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso has been handed and taken a very hands on role at the club.
He’s the first team manager, and has a lot of control around everything that happens in the first team. Alonso has very much gotten himself fully involved in many elements of running the team.
He had some conversations with the majority of the players over the summer and when he first joined. Some of them were looking to leave and Alonso wanted to convince them to stay. Others, he just simply wanted to speak to and let them know how important they were to his thinking going forward, and others needed to be let known that they were not going to be in his plans and needed to find another club.
