The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Monday 28th October 2024!
Morning all,
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend whatever you got up to.
We had another Sunday match day yesterday after playing on Thursday night, welcoming Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea worked hard to get a very good three points against Newcastle in a game that could have easily caused us some problems.
I put my full thoughts, debrief, manager/player ratings, and conclusion out last night. If you’ve not read that yet, you can check it out in full in here.
Get Enzo Maresca’s post-match comments in full in here, as well as rounding up all the rest of your general Chelsea news from yesterday in the same place.
Plenty going on away from the game too, and please bear in mind that these three articles were all written before our game yesterday, whether that has any relevance on the content or not!
A sourced one first, and it’s a double two-part sourced article. I say a sourced one first but actually, to get the context of this article, you’ll be better served to read this article here first on Enzo Maresca’s public comments on Reece James needing to be a better leader. This is where you can find my opinion on Maresca’s comments too.
Now, back to the sourced article which as I say, has two parts. The first is on the latest on Josh Acheampong’s contract situation after the youngster was frozen out by the club. I have more inside info to add to my report on him from last week. The second part is on the leadership issues at the club. I have spoken to some sources close to Maresca’s staff to find out who they think will be a good leader going forward, with more on Maresca’s thoughts and also James. You can read this bumper inside article in full in here.
And the final article of this newsletter is on Marc Cucurella. He had some words out over the weekend and he was very honest about his previous poor form and how he has turned it around. I asked the question in here, is Cucurella changing the fan narrative on him and does he now have a chance of becoming a bit of a cult hero at the club?
Right, do please join me on the live blog from around 8.30am today on the homepage where I’ll encourage comments and opinions on the Toon game!
Peace, Si.
