Sources: This could spell the end of one priority Chelsea target, but the other may be more doable than expected
Some sourced stuff and outside info in this
Chelsea have had a couple of priority transfer targets they have wanted to sign all season really, and what they have been trying to do along the way is lay down the groundwork for these two signings.
It’s no secret that Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa has been wanted by Chelsea for quite some time, and that remains the case. But as I’ve always said, if Arsenal come in for him then it’s game over for Chelsea.
And if the latest info is correct, that might be happening now…
The Daily Mail sources Simon Jones and Craig Hope, who are reliable, have reported:
‘Arsenal are ready to step up interest in Chelsea target Morgan Rogers with both clubs sensing Villa may be open to talking for around £85m. Declan Rice has been working to convince Rogers to join Arsenal in the England camp.’
Nothing is over yet of course, as nothing appears close or even advancing yet with Arsenal. Chelsea have been doing all they can to try and convince Rogers to come to Stamford Bridge, but the lack of European football and abysmal end to the season has really put him off coming to Chelsea right now.
