Clearing up incorrect rumours

I wanted to clear up some incorrect reports on Mason Mount over the weekend.

I’m not here to name and shame, so for this one, I will refrain from stating where the news came from, but I think you’ve all probably seen it.

To recap though, the news was:

‘Mason Mount rejected a new contract offer from Chelsea worth more than £200,000-a-week before flying out to the World Cup. Mount’s representatives are believed to be seeking a contract similar to Raheem Sterling’s £300,000-a-week deal.’

This is entirely incorrect.
