Sources: EIGHT new centre backs explored, Sources: Will Chelsea move for Evan Ferguson THIS month? Data says no need to panic yet, Lesley Ugochukwu not the answer yet, News roundups, Much more...
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Tuesday 7th January 2025!
Morning all,
A bit of a rest for the lads this week with no mid-week games and a bit of a chill before we play Morecambe in The FA Cup this coming Saturday. Hopefully some time for Romeo Lavia to get back to full fitness before coming back into the team this weekend.
The content is a bit more back to normal now after the Christmas madness, and we will also have the Podcast back later this week, looking to do another SPTC round table special.
I’ve been hugely grateful to have the help of The Score this week, who has three articles coming out each day from today. His first one is on Enzo Maresca and why the data shows that there is no reason to panic just yet and despite our poor results of late, we are not in a crisis yet. His words here.
I also had two sourced articles out yesterday seeing as we are in a transfer window. A new centre back remains the priority at the club, and I had EIGHT names to reveal in this one here, as well as some more information on the intentions of the club to bring a new centre back in and what calibre of centre back we are looking at.
The next sourced article is on Evan Ferguson. A lot of people have asked me whether Chelsea will be pushing to sign him this month because it looks like he could be available. Well, here is what our sources are saying on that one.
Lesley Ugochukwu is a player who some have called for a recall on this month to help bolster our midfield. However, I’m not sure I’d be content with that happening, and I have explained why in here.
And of course, round up all of your latest Chelsea news from across the last 24 hours in the same place in here. Covers EVERYTHING including all the big news on Trevoh Chalobah and Marc Guehi that came out yesterday! Was certainly a lively one and you can tell the transfer window is back open and Chelsea are ACTIVE! Just the 103 comments on this one!
See you all on the next live blog from around 8.30am today on the home page.
Peace, Si.
