Sources: Cole Palmer should not have started Saturday (injury update), Man Utd 2 Chelsea 1 - Review, Wayne Rooney: Strange Maresca decision and no urgency, Shearer questions the project, Much more....
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Monday 22nd September 2025!
Morning all,
I hope you had a good weekend away from the football.
The football wasn’t great. Chelsea lost 2-1 to Manchester United after the return of the Robert Sanchez brain farts! His understudy wasn’t much better mind, and as for our defence, yikes. Enzo Maresca made some odd calls too, and the football was just so poor. Get my full thoughts and reactions on the defeat here.
Alan Shearer doesn’t know whether Chelsea are much better than they were three or four years ago and has questioned how much has been spent once again. You can get his comments and more comment from me on all of that here.
Wayne Rooney was spot on with his review of the game and the negative decision made by Maresca in here. He’s made some good points that I do agree with.
Cole Palmer went off injured in the game with his reoccurring groin issues. He should never have started the game after what I’ve heard from sources. You’d have had this here in your inbox yesterday but if you missed it, it was the latest inside news on Palmer’s injury.
As always, I rounded up all the latest news from Sunday here. This covers all your general Chelsea news and anything else in between.
See you on the next live blog from around 8.45am today.
Peace, Si.

I hear Maresca is very worried about playing Lincoln and I bet their players can’t wait an upset is on the cards here.
