I will sometimes get some reports back from training and Cobham from some of the sources I speak to there, and I’ve had some feedback already on Cole Palmer.

I’ve obviously also heard that the atmosphere is the best it’s been at Cobham FOR YEARS. The players are very excited to be working under Xabi Alonso, and the feeling has not been this collectively good at Cobham under any other recent manager we’ve had in the Blueco era, since Thomas Tuchel was here.

This is the Alonso effect, and the effect that the owners knew they needed to get with their next manager hire.

Not only is he having an effect on current players, Alonso is having a big effect and a big influence on potential new signings, with the new boss getting involved to help convince Morgan Rogers to sign for The Blues this week.
