The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Friday 29th August 2025!
Morning all,
Welcome to the weekend and the end of August! The summer is on it’s way out now but that means the football season is in full flow again. Chelsea face Fulham this coming Saturday in the lunchtime kick off, and I’ve got some words on that and what to expect from Fulham ahead of the game here.
Let’s go to the live blog now and get all the very latest Chelsea transfer news in a host of fast changing situations from across the last 24 hours in the same place here. After I signed off we had the ‘here we go’ for Alejandro Garnacho and also, Spurs agreed a fee with RB Leipzig for just over £50m. No personal terms agreed yet so there’s a very slight chance that Chelsea could come in. I’m waiting for more info on all this because I cannot make any sense of it right now and it’s been yet another saga full of contrasting info and PR moves. I’ll put something out on the app soon if I can correlate some info and make any sense of it all and see what’s happening next. Fermin Lopez? Morgan Rogers? Remember, Aston Villa would love to sign Nicolas Jackson and he’s still here. So maybe, just maybe…. I’m waiting on info on it all and as always when I’m not on the site, I’ll jump on the Substack App chat section if I get anything on anything. Could be an interesting couple of days now with a surprise or two. Honestly, I’m really annoyed about this Xavi thing, and I’ll write my view on it on Sunday if it transpires that we truly have spent all summer in ‘advanced talks’ to sign him and then let him go to Spurs. Jesus Christ. It’s not even about the player or if you rate him at that point, it’s about principle and the human aspect of making a player wait all summer to then not sign him. It’s not a good way to operate. Anyway, more on that if I have to speak on it Sunday, let’s just see what happens today first. Chelsea can still react. I’d be over the moon if they did, as that is how Chelsea FC should move - go hijack Spurs ‘hijacking’. £50m is SUCH a bargain for Xavi and even if goal posts were moved on add-ons or how the fee is paid or anything else, so what? That’s a bargain. Sigh. Mike Maignan. Sigh. Victor Osimhen. Sigh. Mo Kudus. Sigh. Michael Olise. Sigh. Unfortunately there’s a pattern emerging…. Let’s see before I truly go off.
Alejandro Garnacho will be a Chelsea player this season and possibly beyond. So it’s time to get used to that fact I guess. Many people are against this signing, but perspective is important, and there are those who are all for it as well albeit the minority. But I’ve checked in on that minority here to take in what they’ve said as well, because different opinions are important as well.
I had word yesterday that Chelsea are still looking at new centre backs just this week. Can it happen still? Check in on the latest info from our sources on that here. I don’t believe for one minute we will sign one, by the way, but yeah, something I heard yesterday.
I’ll be on the Substack App in the chat section if anything goes off from now until Sunday or if I get any info to share, so see you there. Otherwise, I’ll be back on this site on Sunday with my latest set of articles and to review Chelsea’s 2-1 home win against Fulham……. Yikes, too confident? I hope not! COME ON CHELSEA!!!!
Peace, Si.

Who is to say that Spurs after being burnt all summer didn't offer Simons crazy money - we have had a good window. We don't actually need Simons who's preference is to play in the same postion Palmer, Estêvão and to a lesser extent Pedro want to play. Let moan when it's worth moaning about.
Fully agree Si. My frustration is about our potential reputation loss and how that affects future business. It’s not the usual fan obsession with getting a particular player over all others. The Spurs thing just adds insult to injury.
