Chelsea have suddenly decided to seriously consider making a late transfer window move to sign Emi Martinez from Aston Villa.
All pre-season we had heard from our sources, and Chelsea had been communicating to the media, that they were happy with the goalkeeping options they have got this season and will not be signing a new number one.
They had in fact been looking into home grown third choice options to come in instead.
This one was not a tactic to play anything down, it was simply what they were all collectively planning to do.
