Chelsea are contemplating making a move to sign a new midfielder in the January transfer window, as mentioned a few times here recently.
The club have Alex Scott as their primary target in midfield, but Bournemouth are taking a stronghold on him in the winter window. Sources believe it would take an offer way north of £100m to even make them think about a mid-season sale. As reported, Chelsea have been considering trying to get a pre-deal in place to sign him in the summer, because there are plenty of other big clubs ready to join the race to sign him at the end of the season. Whether Bournemouth would agree anything like that or not, remains to be seen.
But Chelsea have been looking into signing two new midfielders over the next two windows anyway, and they have their eyes on another name for January.
