Chelsea have started initial contract talks with two young players and are feeling optimistic on both situations.
As you will be aware, Chelsea have a wage structure in place that is mostly around lower base fees and then bonus earnings on top depending on individual performances and team achievements. Many of the players are on a tidy Champions League qualification bonus, for example.
But as of recent times, Chelsea have been rewarding players with better contracts that include higher base wages, and they have begun initial talks with two players for this kind of increase as I type.
