The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Friday 23rd August 2024!
Morning all,
Hope you’ve all had a good week, we have arrived at Friday once again!
Chelsea were in action last night against a napkin (I promise to stop making that Dad joke again 😂). I was playing myself last night so could not watch, but I will be watching back and putting out some reactions on the site on Sunday.
Chelsea beat Servette 2-0 in the first leg of the Europa Conference League play-off tie. I’ve heard the first half was shocking from us but we improved in the second half. A win is a win, and a clean sheet is a clean sheet, right!? I’ll have more reactions this weekend!
There are still some players with futures to sort out either way and a little bit up in the air right now. Both Noni Madueke and Carney Chukwuemeka can be placed under that umbrella right now. I have sourced stories on both of those now.
Chukwuemeka’s future is up in the air for sure, with interest from Crystal Palace and AC Milan. So what exactly is going on there right now? I have the insider scoops on that in here.
Even though he scored last night and Enzo Maresca has hinted that he sees hims as a squad player this season, the same can be said about Noni Madueke really, and I’ve been told that Madueke to Newcastle is still hot. All the info and updates from sources on that one in here.
I have a mixed sourced update article now on a few things. It features Romelu Lukaku’s pending move to Napoli, striker search updates, Conor Gallagher being greeted by a familiar face at Atletico, and some players being frustrated at the treatment of their pals in the squad. You can check all of that out and more in here.
And oh yes, the live blog from yesterday will be the place you need to head to to gather all your latest Chelsea news, transfer rumours and stories, and anything else that has gone on in the last 24 hours in the same place here.
Luke will be on the latest Podcast with Jai later today, so do please check that out when it’s live!
Right, have a good weekend all! I’ll be back Sunday, or before on the Substack App if anything big goes on! See you all then!
Peace, Si.

On the Servette game:
1. Palmer is far more effective wide than central. Centrally he looked not strong enough and lost the ball regularly.
2. Madueke is way better than last season. He really should be starting in this side although I don't see how he and Palmer can start together. In this game Madueke was more effective than the rest of the forwards put together.
3. Last night's goalie was ok.
How will you watch the game back si? Would like to do so myself as I was also at football training.
