I hope you had a good weekend and for those able to watch the World Cup, I hope you’ve been enjoying that so far.
I’ve written my initial takeaways from the World Cup so far here and noted the team that has impressed me the most so far. It’s a shame I can’t watch much of it live, but I’m trying to watch many games back.
Back to the Chelsea stuff now, and it’s stayed very quiet as expected whilst the World Cup is on and Chelsea operate in the background (hopefully). But there is the usual noise around both Enzo Fernandez and Marc Cucurella.
I’ve got the latest on Fernandez’ future here. I still think he goes this summer, but it’s turned into a saga. Sigh…
Cucurella’s situation moved very fast after I wrote my latest on him yesterday morning. Real Madrid agreement came out of nowhere as this was another situation that I expected to go quiet until after the World Cup. But such is football business, this one could not wait apparently. As reported yesterday morning, Cucurella and Fernandez want to go to the same new club, is that about to be Real Madrid!? I also said yesterday that Cucurella still wants out despite his public comments. I wrote this here yesterday morning, but see Blues News Report for how things developed since then!
There was also a wild story about Jamie Gittens and how his former manager at Dortmund told Bayern Munich NOT to sign the winger!? Madness. I’ve got that story and also my opinion on Gittens in general, in here.
