The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Friday 9th Thursday 2026!
Morning all,
Welcome to another weekend!
Chelsea are in action tomorrow in the FA Cup against Charlton Athletic, and it will be Liam Rosenior’s first official game in charge. Let’s hope for the very best and a good start to his tenure.
Check out all of your latest Chelsea news in general from across the last 24 hours in the same place here.
Calum McFarlane bowed out as our interim manager on Wednesday night with his final press conference. It’s been a journey Calum, and he’s still on that Chelsea first team journey now. I did drop some hints on this in my words here.
This week has been all about fans fully turning on the ownership. We have protests planned, big chants against them including swearing towards Behdad Eghbali, discontent over being 8th in the league and 1 win in 9. It’s very toxic out there right now. Words here.
Talking about the owners. There has been some negative reactions to Danny Windsor’s article earlier this week. I just wanted to put some more context to it all and address some of the comments that have been made here. Please read if you haven’t already.
Finally, my unpopular opinion, maybe? Pedro Neto would be a better wingback than he is winger - I’m adamant about it. Read that in full here.
Oh, and we also had the latest Podcast out yesterday discussing everything mad that has happened these last couple of weeks. Check that here if you haven’t already.
Have a great weekend all, I’ll be back on the site on Sunday to react to Liam’s first game as Chelsea boss. I’ll have the Live Discussion Thread on the Substack App for the game on Saturday night, so do join us there.
Have a great weekend all!
Peace, Si.

I really wish Liam Rosenior all the best and that he succeeds but trying to manage Chelsea at the moment is a very difficult task given the ownership. I have watched football for sixty years and if it’s not right at the top it won’t be on the pitch. Let’s hope he can prove me wrong.
