Pre-Preston thoughts, line-up ideas and predictions

Here is what I think will happen and how I would line us up

Good Afternoon Ladies & Gents,

We are midway through the week and after back-to-back wins I am having a little bit of Chelsea withdrawal symptoms, so today I am hyping myself up for the Preston game and bringing all of you along with me for the ride.

Another chance for us to progress in a cup competition after already making it to the Carabao Cup semi-final. You can never underestimate the underdog especially in the FA Cup, but realistically Chelsea should be winning this game and entering round 4 of the FA Cup.

The cups were always going to be priority this season and this competition is another opportunity for us to secure European football for next season, outside of the league. With the size of the squad we have/will have come the 24/25 season we do need some sort of European football in order to be able to rotate the squad and keep a lot of players happy, whilst bedding in some youngsters as well.

Prediction:

I think Chelsea will win this game 3-1 and I would be more than happy with that result, goals will come from Nkunku, Mudryk & Enzo.

I will talk more about this below, but I would predict the likes of Enzo, Sterling and Mudryk to start. I would also like to see Gilchrist amongst some other Cobham lads start or at least feature in the game.

Lineups:

As it stands on Wednesday afternoon when writing this we have no team news ahead of the game, I would start Badiashile if fit but right now I am unsure on his availability as with Lesley Ugochukwu, but I believe that Caicedo should sit this one out and rest ahead of the Carabao cup semi-finals and the Fulham PL fixture.

It is important we rest as many key players as possible whilst giving minutes to some players who haven’t featured prominently in the last few fixtures.
