Outside View: Maresca has 2 objectives but fan disconnect there & excessive spend hinders progress, Terry & Morris to manage in Baller League, Tuchel's character stands out, Zola & Makelele ball out..
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Monday 24th March 2025!
Morning all,
Back from a weekend trip away for my Birthday. It was chaotic with the boy but had some really nice moments too! Shout out to the parents who looked after Solly for a part of it!
England played on Friday night and it marked our former hero boss Thomas Tuchel’s first game in charge. It wasn’t exactly vintage England even though they won 2-0, and Tuchel certainly expressed his frustrations after the game. This shows his character and how he sets the standards from the off. I love this about a manager personally. Words and reflections on that here.
Jai was joined by SPTC legends Danny Windsor and Luke Rushbrook on the Podcast last week and finally managed to get the episode out yesterday! He’s been a busy boy but thank you to all three who got the Pod done in my absence again! You can tune in here.
A game I did enjoy watching a bit more had Gianfranco Zola playing in it! Nope, I wasn’t hitting up the Chelsea archives, I was watching him play in the Chelsea Legends match against Liverpool! We lost 2-0 but it was great to see the likes of Zola, Claude Makelele, Florent Malouda, and more balling out. It wasn’t all great though, and there was a sad decline of Ramires to witness amongst others. But this was a great game and of course for a great cause. Check out my words on that here.
Meanwhile, anyone fancy watching a new concept of football starting today in fact? The Baller League is starting and John Terry and Jody Morris are managing a team in it. What is it all about? I hear you ask. Well, I’ve got it all covered for you here and personally I think it sounds like a very entertaining concept of football that I will certainly be tuning in for if I can!
Some stuff on Enzo Maresca now, but not from me. I’ve gone for an outside view this time because it is good to get other perspectives. Maresca has two objectives, which is spoken about here, as well as fan disconnect and how the owners spending is hindering Maresca. Some interesting points in this.
You can round up all your general Chelsea news in The Blues News Report here covering everything that has happened and going on around our club right now. Lot’s of transfer news in this one actually.
See you on the live blog from around 8.30am today.
Peace, Si.

How can Winstanley and Stewart be in charge for a summer fire sale...surely there must be recognition in the club that the 2024 summer transfer window was bit of a disaster...does anyone know or understand why the club have so much confidence in these guys?
