Osimhen or Sesko? Striker updates, How Chelsea could lineup next season, Stability or change, what does the data say? The importance of Reece James, News roundups, More..
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Tuesday 14th May 2024!
Morning all,
We are in the final week of the season and Chelsea have a couple of games this week to finish it all off. We away to Brighton on Wednesday, then home to Bournemouth on Sunday at Stamford Bridge, which will be Thiago Silva’s send off game too. The push for Europe continues right up until the end.
It’s also time to start thinking about next season, with the summer transfer window expected to be a pretty lively one for Chelsea.
The first big decision will be whether Chelsea decide to stick or twist with Mauricio Pochettino. The Score has his latest view on that to kick things off today. His article, ‘Stability or Change? What does the data tell us’ is available to read in full here.
There are also going to be some big decisions to make in recruitment, particularly up top. A new striker remains the priority, and it’s so important that we get this right. Is Victor Osimhen the best choice to go for? What about Benjamin Sesko? Or perhaps a wildcard option such as Serhou Guirassy? You can make your choice in here as well as get the latest on the striker search!
And then what about the wider squad? What are you thinking about that? What positions do Chelsea need to sign in? You can make some votes on that in here as well as see some lineup options that we could start the 2024/25 season with? I’ve added in some new signings that I would like to see in this too.

Anchoring things up as usual now is our man Luke. You can read his latest musings on the importance of Reece James after his cameo against Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening in full here.
