The fans you refer to arent fans they are "Adrenaline Junkies" moving from their last fix (Chelsea win) to their next and if the gap between wins is too large they get withdrawal symptoms.
As always you make some compelling arguments and I applaud the fact that you can now admit you should have cheered poche on until the end.
I took 6 weeks off the site refusing to post because the sheer lack of rationality and toxicity of what was being posted was unbearable for a supporter of nigh on 60 years.
Chelsea supporters fall into several camps in reality.
1) Those that form opinions over time on how things are going but never lose focus that opinions have to be malleable and subject to change but above all they remain calm.
2) Those that come to snap decisions in the pub over beer with those opinions becoming more extreme in direct proportion to number of beers consumed.
Those opinions become imprinted on the supporter and spouted as gospel until the next beery session imprints another set of opinions and so on.
Now of course there are grey areas in between for example type 2 may not drink beer just wine or spirits.
Seriously though the grey areas in between are where supporters exhibit proportions or Type 1 & 2 supporters.
Either way its outrageous that some are calling for the sacking of a manager who hasnt yet had a chance.
People have strong opinions for a reason. At a top club you have to win, Maresca knows that. An elite manager can imprint his style virtually instantly. Tuchel's first game was a 0-0 home draw but you could see an immediate improvement in the players they knew what they needed to do, a few months later he won us the European Cup. It took Conte successive early defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal to find his Chelsea identity. Once he did he won the league for us in his first season. Mourinho, Ancelotti, elite managers and tacticians who could inspire players and win. Is Maresca an elite manager? No, will he ever be? Probably not. Where is the evidence of a style, a philosophy? In the two games against Servette? In the tame defeat against City, in the Palace game, on the pre season tour? But of course Maresca will need more time, like Potter, you can already see it's going nowhere. If you want to be a top club you need an elite manager and a sporting director who knows what they are doing. Chelsea have the players currently, I think, and the resources to maintain our status as an elite club, but we need a top coach, not someone who says after a home draw with Crystal Palace that we should not expect to win these games anymore as we are not the Chelsea of old. I hope it works for Maresca but I can't see it and we will be doomed to another season of mediocrity and the consequences of being out of the champions league again next season.
Couldn’t agree more with this article and at some point you have to think why would any player want to put up with this as well from the fans? There’s so much talent and it’s so clear to me what Maresca is building and his honesty is very refreshing I truly think it’s just a matter of time (I refuse to use patience because I think a lot of us are done with that word at this point)
Sound words as always The Score. How the people calling for Enzo‘s head already can call themselves Chelsea supporters I find it hard to understand or even acknowledge. Having been at the game at the weekend I thought the first 45 minutes against Crystal Palace was probably as good as we played for two or three years. You could actually see the pattern of play and what the manager is aiming for. I’m sure Manchester United would like to have 45 minutes in a similar way having been searching for a pattern for 2 1/2 seasons. Yes, the second half was not as good and that’s all part of the learning curve. There are so many good signs , that now is the time to show our support, get behind the manager and let him know that we are there for him and the football club. As you say target those that you don’t want off the pitch, if you think that’s necessary, but let’s support those on the pitch and the coaching staff. Some of them will have bad days, don’t we all in the work we do.
The attacking patterns and structure are so blindingly obvious to see this season. Honestly makes me wonder how I put up with Poch as long as I did. Nico needs to finish one of the two chances he had late but at the same time we had several players not make the extra pass to the open man who would have been able to put the ball back across the face of goal. I'm sure Enzo is searing that into their minds before the squad goes off on international break and I fully expect to see that small detail changed/implemented for the game against Bournemouth. I am still very confident of a top 4 finish this season.
This is all well and good. But ultimately Maresca is a ludicrous appointment and in all likelihood he'll be gone by Xmas. Whatever you think of Pochettino (and I'm not a particularly fan of his). He is a much better manager than Maresca, and the club should've stuck with him.
Binsey few people were more upset than me at the treatment of Poche at the end of the season, however I have come to realise that despite the excellent position he acheived with an unbalanced naive and inexperienced squad he had moved them on a great deal.
Also I think he realised that the sales at the end of the season would rip some of the core from the squad and it was start again time.
So he walked and I shall follows how he does as manager of the USA team and cheer them on.
No I dont think we've seen the best of Maresca yet and whether he is better than Poche or worse as a manager only time will tell for me but if you ask me do i think he is what the team need now I would have to say resoundingly yes.
The best of Maresca is who we are seeing now. Someone who has zero track record and someone who should never been given the job at Chelsea. With the exception of Russell Martin, I'd happily take every other manager in the PL ahead of him (including Ten Hag who's useless). What I'm really angry about is that we're just marking time until the inevitable happens and he gets sacked, and another season will have been wasted
Seriously, give the man a chance and make whatever comments are necessary after the season has completed, but for now he is our manager let’s support him.

Best advice I can give you, just stay off X
The voice of reason and experience. Thank you
Well done the Score. Hit the nail on the head. No problem with people not believing Maresca is the one - but bloody well give the bloke a chance.
