Loan Army 24/25: Roundup
Lets see how our loan army are getting on.....
Good Afternoon Ladies and Gents,
It’s back, the football season has returned and with the return of football brings the return of the Loan Army!
It’s a relatively small army at the moment but I am sure it will grow massively in the weeks to come.
Teddy Sharman-Lowe (Doncaster Rovers) - A first football league loan for Teddy, and it has started as well as it could have, he made his football league debut at the weekend in a 4-1 home victory over Accrington Stanley he only faced 2 shots on target and made one good save, he received a 7/10 match rating. He also started in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night against Salford a game where Doncaster came out 2-0 winners and Teddy got his first clean sheet for Doncaster, he also received another 7/10 match rating.
Ted Curd (Hampton & Richmond) - Ted made his debut for Hampton and Richmond in the National League South at the weekend in a home fixture v Hornchurch. They lost the game 3-1, the only info I can get is from the H&R Twitter (X) account and according to them Ted made an excellent save at 1-0 from a curling long range effort. Due to the division Ted is in I can get limited info on his performances.
Eddie Beach (Crawley Town) - Eddie has spent the first 2 games on the bench for Crawley Town in League One and the Carabao Cup respectively, the good news for Eddie is that the current No1 has only ever completed one season as a first choice Goalkeeper and that was in League 2, 4 years ago. he is been on the periphery or unable to lock down a position for the rest of his career. Some fight and hard work or just a little bit of luck could see Eddie displace him, if he does this will be a fantastic loan for him.
Gaga Slonina (Barnsley) - Gaga joined Barnsley in League one last week, but it was too late to be eligible for their first fixture. He was eligible for their carabao cup game in the week and what a debut he had. He made 3 saves and then won his team the penalty shootout by saving 2/4 penalties. He will be there number 1 moving forward and what a way to start.
Alfie Gilchrist (Sheffield United) - Alfie has joined newly relegated Championship side Sheffield United for the season on loan, I watched his opening game of the season and he slotted in really comfortably as a Right Back in a back4. He was calm on the ball, solid in defence and bought a bit of leadership to the side as well. Some little hand gestures and obvious shouts really stood out to me. He started the second game on the bench with a heavily rotated Sheffield United at home to Wrexham but due to injury he was introduced after just 18 minutes and came on and played well again, a good start for Alfie.
Dylan Williams (Burton Albion) - Dylan has started both games so far for Burton, They lost their opening league game to a last minute winner from Lincoln, he got a 6.5/10 match rating in that game. Burton rotated a lot of players but Dylan was one of a few to start a second consecutive game and play a second consecutive 90 minutes. Unfortunately it was a night to forget for Burton who lost 4-0 to Blackpool.
Aaron Anselmino (Boca Juniors) - Anselmino hasn’t been featuring for Boca of late, not sure why I am assuming an injury as he hasn’t even been making the squad for over 2 months.
Caleb Wiley (RC Strasbourg) - Similarly to Chelsea, Strasbourg’s season starts this weekend, will update next week on performances
Andrey Santos (RC Strasbourg) - Similarly to Chelsea, Strasbourg’s season starts this weekend, will update next week on performances
Welcome back and see you again next week for another update.
Thanks for reading

I hope the report on Gaga Slonina is a sign of positive things to come. Looking forward to your reviews as the season moves forward. I’d like many really enjoy this regular article on the players that are loaned out.
Nice to see this back Luke will be a big list of loans this year wont it?
