A less popular player who I would love in the squad now considering our current deficiencies would be Le Saux. A real footballer and someone I can imagine would fit into the Marseca system quite well. Still not completely sold on Cucurella and I could just imagine Le Saux creating magic as an inverted fullback.
'Sources have told ESPN that both Boehly and Behdad Eghbali believed the club's analytics department was undervalued and there was an overreliance on agent relationships in their transfer dealings.'
Yes there was underliance on data but the over reliance on agent relationships is still there other wise we wont be signing some of the players we have signed.
Really like the Carvalho and Matic shouts. If I was to pick a player I haven't seen mentioned yet it would be Michael Ballack. Would have loved him to stay longer than he did.
This ownership drives me crazy because I can actually understand why they have done the overhaul and certain actions but the execution and attempts to communicate their reasoning is pathetic 😭
Si, I saw your comment about Palmer and his injury and I have read elsewhere that there are suggestions that last year’s problems are returning. I suspect you agree (hopefully) with a differing view that I have that Chelsea are managing injuries much better this year. For example they’re not taking any risks with players that had long-term injuries and are gradually building up their game time, and that is why one of the reasons we have seen Nakunku, used sparingly so far I believe. Forfana was not risked for both the European matches at this stage of his rehabilitation. Plus it seems they’re not willing to risk anything with Palma and that’s why he was recalled from the England squad. Obviously injuries to Reese James and Lavia are disappointing but it does seem that the letter will be back for the next game. Hopefully Gusto’s in game injury will not cause any long-term problems and injuries of this nature have to be expected from time to time. Here is to hoping that we have turned the corner and we will have a cleaner be at Health in 2024/25
The only thing I've heard on him recently is that Lampard and his staff didn't rate him, so they would have fed that back to the owners. I think he will get sold and probably should be sold too.
He would certainly bring different attributes to those two and backs himself to score goals. Personally from what I've seen though I don't think he'll ever be a top striker (I hope I'm wrong and I might be wrong of course).
Openda is a tempting option out there. The profile however, is far from the typical No9 striker. Some teams seemingly play with that type of player up top and I'm a fan of him (based on his characteristics) but it's another question is he what we need. Sesko or Gyokeres options are the alternatives but for them two we will have plenty of admirers next summer.
Eghbali claiming we need champions league football after watching Madrid v Bayern.
He literally bought the world champions!! And then he decided to go down the same path as Brighton.
Absolute joker 🤡🤡🤣🤣🤣

Yeah that's a good one!
That ESPN report is just baffling

Really wild!

Yes I agree with that, they seem to be much more on top of it and doing more pro-active moves.
Oh Ziegler! Better luck next time. Go and have a lie down 🤣🤣
Si do you have insights into DDF to Athens collapse?
I've not heard anything about it I'm afraid.
What do you personally think? Sell or loan as best choice? Curious to see if he could have a role somehow after all, wdyt?
The only thing I've heard on him recently is that Lampard and his staff didn't rate him, so they would have fed that back to the owners. I think he will get sold and probably should be sold too.
Any chance he adds value as an option between Jackson and raw Guiu? Or is he tactically that poor?

Absolutely going for JFH - and not just because I played CF and have the same initials!
Also, Di Matteo and Flo were fun to watch.
And I would have loved to have seen Osgood and Bonetti play.
Great shouts!
Who is one Chelsea player you miss that most others wouldn’t say - Ricki Cavallio
Absolutely, Craige. As a CB, he was ahead of his time
Boom! 🔥
Still can't get over the times he was with us.......... https://x.com/CFCJohnnyB/status/1831083088786649460
Eidur Gudjohnsen was one of my favorite Chelsea players. His partnership with Hasselbank was a joy to watch.
Still remember his goal against Manchester United the opening day of Mourinho’s first season.
100%, an absolute baller.
Yeah he deleted the 1st post and changed it
As the Nigerian Reporter Buchi Laba said,
No breakclause in Osimhen’s contract.
That is that then i guess in our pursuit.
He just said it’s a full season loan, which it is. Doesn’t mean there isn’t a break clause.
Ben Jacob’s has just said there is a break clause and new lower release clause.
Yeah Romano has reported a break clause too.
