The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Tuesday 23rd August 2023!
Morning all,
As Chelsea look to tie up their final bit of transfer business for this summer, a lot of names are going around and a few final options are being considered by Chelsea.
The goalkeeper position looks to be completed now with Djordje Petrovic set to come in from New England Revolution. And then Chelsea are looking to sign at least one more attacker before the deadline next week. It’s all going on now as we look to close the window with more arrivals, and of course, more departures.
You can get ALL the very latest in our transfer roundup live blog here. This covers any fresh news that has come out and also, any further sourced news that I get given throughout the day.
I did put out a sourced article on attackers yesterday with some key updates in it as well as another Crystal Palace player who has been discussed. In this also, Pochettino wants players who will make an instant impact in attack now. Read all about that in here.
Going back to Petrovic now and I have an opinion article on him here. Robert Sanchez is being reported as our number one still, but Petrovic is going to be seriously challenging him for that place. Some nice little videos and info in this one too.
Ian Maatsen has just one year left on his current Chelsea contract and is in discussions over a new deal. Still, there is no agreement yet and after the Lewis Hall debacle, people are concerned that Maatsen might also be sold with his pathway being blocked. I’ve written all about that in here and also added quotes from an excellent article from a friend of mine who’s dropping some serious and warranted concerns on our academy.
Chelsea’s defeat against West Ham on Sunday was frustrating. But I’ve since seen some very reactionary takes about many things, players, manager, and our performance. But we shouldn’t be over reacting at this stage of the season for MANY reasons, and I detail them here.
That’s it for now, join me on the live blog from around 8am today!
Peace, Si.
