Journo: Enzo Maresca's in-game tactics and excuses aren't cutting it, Joe Cole, Lampard, & Terry should be listened to, Maresca fails to take any responsibility for Atalanta defeat, Everton next...
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Thursday 11th December 2025!
Morning all,
Moving into the double figures of December days now, and annoyingly, we seem to be mirroring our terrible December form of last season so far. Plenty of time to sort that out though and change it.
My fear is that I think it’s actually pretty easy to at least get a point against Chelsea right now, no matter who the team is. You don’t need data or any fancy tactics, it’s much more simple than that. Chelsea can beat any team on their day, but they are also pretty easy to beat if you ask me. Words on that here.
Enzo Maresca failed to take any responsibility for the defeat to Atalanta in the week, and that didn’t sit well with me. He pushed it towards the players but the reality is, it was his poor subs that contributed most to the loss. Every word Maresca said in the aftermath here.
On Maresca, there was some stern analysis on him after the game from one journalist. And although some of this can be considered a little harsh or unfair, I also think some good points have been raised in here.
Joe Cole once again went back to the team lacking experience in general, which it does, that’s just common sense to me. His words here are spot on and as we know, he’s not the only one who’s been saying this. Add legends like John Terry and Frank Lampard to that as well. Maybe they should actually be listened to?
As always, you can find all your latest and general Chelsea news from across the last 24 hours in the same place here. Covers all you need to know.
See you all on the next live blog from around 8.45 this morning on the home page.
Peace, Si.
