Hope you’ve had a nice start to your week. Feel like this incredible summer we have had in Europe is slowly coming to an end now, getting a bit fresher out there!
Chelsea play tomorrow night against Leeds United in the League Cup 3rd round at Stamford Bridge, and that fixture is always a tasty one and has a lot of history attached to it.
Before that, some more reactions from the Arsenal defeat. We had The Score drop by again telling us we need to be patient with Xabi Alonso here. And he’s right, we do have to be patient. But also, it’s completely fine if you have many concerns still right now and also, be quite annoyed that we are being told to be patient at the start of every season. So I have my views on it all here. But ultimately yes, of course we need to be patient right now, it’s a new manager, new players, and there are also a lot of positive signs we have started the season with.
Joe Cole reacted to the game by criticising Chelsea for selling Kai Havetz. I mean, we can criticise Chelsea for a lot of their recruitment mistakes over recent years, but selling Havertz for me was not one of them! His words and my reactions here.

Far too often we get ex players saying this player or that player should’ve be bought or maybe should be sold but they live in a vacuum.
Only the other day we were hearing that Chelsea shouldn’t have sold Fernandez yet ask most of us who witnessed his underwhelming performances ( of which there were many) or maybe take heed of the little things in terms of his off field antics and maybe just maybe they would gain a perspective that truly fits the narrative as opposed to a view from the players union.
Back to Havertyz. We got good money for a players who to be honest is still to find his best position and a player who wanted out.
