Forest 0 Chelsea 3 - Result is all that matters after terrible first half, No room for error anymore under cut-throat Enzo Maresca, Blues set to make impressive recruitment hire, Morgan Rogers to CFC?
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Monday 20th October 2025!
Morning all,
Hope you all had a good weekend. It was made much better by the return of domestic football, and even more better by Chelsea thrashing Nottingham Forest 3-0 away from home with an injury-depleted team. That is what we should focus on after this game rather than too much on how bad that first half was. And oh boy, we saw how bad it was!
As I say though, we should just take this one and run. It was a big three points to keep up with the leading pack in the league and all that matters in any game is getting the win. My post-match thoughts can be found here. Thank you, Pedro Neto and Enzo Maresca!
More on Maresca in here. I’m so pleased to see him building in stature and confidence. He is laying down the laws and being much more cut-throat in his decisions, not afraid to haul players off if they’ve not turned up for a game. For me, this is a great way to operate and I love to see it.
Away from the game now and it looks like Chelsea are about to make a very good new hire in recruitment. Former Liverpool director Dave Farrows looks set to join the club in a senior sporting role. We aren’t sure yet what this really means but it seems like he will be coming in to perhaps lead football operations, or at least that is what I am hopeful of. Read all about it here.
Transfer Rumour of the day is back now! Morgan Rogers to Chelsea is a story that will not die down and also has a bit of a destiny about it I think. There’s a latest exclusive on this one here, with my words and info too.
As always, you can round up all your latest general Chelsea news from across the last 24 hours in the same place in our Blues News Report that I put out last night here.
See you all on the next live blog from around 8.45am on the home page today.
Peace, Si.
