Surprised you didn't include Braithwaite as a CB option given we've reached back out to Everton about him

100% spot on Luke

We all know what a title winning team looks like and what we need to bring in to be one again.

We all know this is now 7 windows and see what the model is and what it looks like. is what we have right now, young, potential and low on wages. Its a profit first model not win first model.

we need to sell to bring in a top top players, we have that all spot on as well, you must be scout with ears on eyes on the ground in the real world.

Striker

A tail of 2 Viktors, if they SDs & Owners are serious we could of got Ossie a year ago but would not pay the ££ its not the model.

Delap - potential should be a back up rotational striker. No he not Diego mk2, its potential. He is not Harry Kane! This is all hyped up bollox by the club PR.

He will end up being the number 1. He is a old school 9 but at best he should be a bench player for rotation, he is not a 26 yr old Drogba who just to remind everyone was inconsistent when we WON the EPL in his first season. I like Delaps potential if he turns into a Shearer all well and good for us.

We need a Viktor, just pick one pay them, ( it will be 200 / 250k a wk) either they are the starter we need. 100% we have spoken to both, demands are too high ie they want to be paid market rate to do the gig.

Eki tictoc Verses pick a Viktor its not even close who you choose unless its about the wages to fit the model.

Rodrygo Oh how I would love to see that but they wont pay the wages £££ does not fit the model.

Just a quick word on Trev, who I have seen since he was a young kid, he was treated so bad last year I would like to personally hang my hat on to keep him, his mentality is immense to get through the shit they dished out last year to him which was a F*ing disgrace.

However he is another pure profit easy target. Just watch him play along side MG for England under Tommy T.

On the SDs I do not trust them to pick a CB at all, look at the dross they brought in who we need to ship them all out!

I'm a realist we are where we are, its a model I may not like but it is what it is. The stumbling block will always be the wages to be able to bring in a Viktor, a Rodrygo etc etc.

(BTW This is where I sit on standards, we won it all, loverly I have moved on, never want to hear about a 3rd tier cup again, I saw us win the ZDS Cuo as well. I also don't celebrate coming 4th thats Arsenals narrative)

Rodrygo + Estevão + Palmer what a dream🙏🏼

Keep Lavia because he is unsaleable but I think santos has his number

I don't know if I love any of the left wing options tbh, Rodrygo isnt a touchline winger, and cuts inside like a ten, even if he is class. I picked Leao but workrate is sketch. I really hope we make a bid for Barcola. Fits the model, produced in big games, young, taller, and may not be a locked on starter for PSG.

After watching the Everton match although based on one viewing I felt Branthwaite would be more at home in WWE you can continually wrestle opponents to the ground eventually the Ref will take action and in doing so your not showing the skill needed to be a CB in a top team.

I’m not that enthused by any of them either to be honest!!

Thanks, that’s fun. Personally, I’ve gone with Ekitike if we get Delap and sell Jackson as you suggest, although I would prefer to keep him. Two reasons I think he could be a good foil for the Delap and secondly, we could play him wide left a.k.a. Anelka. I also think that Ekitike is a very different type of player and therefore a good contrast and probably were willing to come.

The L W position really worries me because I’m not convinced as anyone out there that we can get that really improves our team significantly. Another reason I lean towards keeping Jackson.

Beyond this, I cannot disagree with your particular / personal choices

Pretty much agree on your choices. I would still keep Jackson and bring in an Osimhen/Gyokeres type instead of a Delap (although I really rate Delap and at 30m it’s a steal). I’m also still 50/50 on Wesley too. I kind of want to give it one more year and give him the Reece treatment. I know we tried to do that this year but it’s harder to thread a CB in and out like a RB. Maybe I’m just being sentimental because I know how good he is when he is fit. Everything else I think is spot on.

Surprised Branthwiate is not in the CB list, he would be my stand out CB target by a country mile.

Luke Rushbrook's avatar

He’s left footed as is Levi, I personally don’t think the 2 can coexist

Mitch C's avatar

He is very two-footed though and with how we play, building in a 3 I don’t think it matters as much having two left sided CB’s.

Colwill - Branthwaite - James

Luke Rushbrook's avatar

Up to the individual, as a leftie myself I think it’s very awkward having 2 left footed centre backs.

I reallly really rate Branthwaite but just don’t think it works for us.

Craige Coren's avatar

I therefore must assume that as you are a lefty as well that is the reason you’re not on the list as you don’t think you can compete with Colwill 🤣🤣🤣

I’ll give him a run for his money Craige!! At walking football……

I guess I could only keep up with him with a Zimmer frame version of walking football
