Mauricio Pochettino: 'Harry Kane so happy at Tottenham Hotspur' - Sports Mole

Chelsea Women won the first trophy of the Clearlake-Boehly era with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the Women’s FA Cup Final at Wembley. Chelsea weren’t at their best, but just found a way to win.

And it was inevitable Sam Kerr scored. The backflip celebration was pretty special, too. It’s the third straight Women’s FA Cup Final Kerr has netted in. She now has 27 goals this season and there’s a decent chance she gets to 30 with three games left.

Chelsea just have big-game players. It’s great to see Ann-Katrin Berger fit and enjoying her football after recovering from thyroid cancer. The Chelsea goalkeeper did just enough to deny Leah Galton a late equaliser.

Guro Reiten has also been very impressive. The Norwegian has developed the nickname ‘Baby-faced Assassin’ (just like Ole Gunnar Solskjær) and has 11 goals this season. It’s the first time since joining Chelsea in 2019 that she’s got into double figures.

And it was tremendous to see 77,390 at Wembley – a world-record attendance for a domestic women’s match. Chelsea board members Barbara Charone and Jonathan Goldstein were both in attendance, and only a couple of seats away from Prince William!
