Brentford's David Raya predicts more Premier League scalps after Arsenal win | Football | Metro News

Chelsea head into the international break off the back of a disappointing 2-2 draw with Everton. Although they came agonisingly close to making it four wins on the bounce, Ellis Simms’ equaliser was a real mood killer.

Chelsea dominated the game for large parts. To lead twice at home against a struggling side and not see out the game in many ways feels like a loss. And with Spurs drawing at Southampton, it was a real opportunity to close the gap on fourth.

On paper, Chelsea look too far behind to qualify for the Champions League via the Premier League, but a win streak could yet change that.

I think the daily soap opera around Graham Potter’s future is over for now. The wins against Leeds, Dortmund and Leicester have ensured he’s safe from a mid-season sacking. Chelsea’s owners have always backed him and in doing so they are also sticking to their long-term vision. Barring a horrific run of form between now and May, I don’t expect that to change.
