Xabi Alonso took charge of his first game as Chelsea manager yesterday, at least the first game that was in the public eye and not behind closed doors.
The new Chelsea manager picked a starting Xl that mostly consisted of very young players and academy players, with only a few ‘senior’ players.
It was refreshing to see, and Alonso has already spoken glowingly about how many of the academy players have been impressing him in training. Might some of them get a shot in the first team this season?
