Marc Cucurella joining Real Madrid came from nowhere and it happened very fast, at least in the public eye.

It was clearly a move that was being worked on behind the scenes and Chelsea managed to keep any rumours of it out of the media.

We all knew Cucurella wanted to leave and was going to go, but I don’t think many people had him going to Real Madrid.

Now Chelsea would not have sold him to Real Madrid without seeing whether there was anything in it for them as well in terms of opportunities. And remember, Enzo Fernandez still wants to join Cucurella at Real Madrid and that one is still on the cards.

So these could be the first and second of a bunch of ‘favour’ deals between the two clubs this summer.
