We’ve all seen it by now, and we’ve all seen the criticism that has followed it and the pile on to Cole Palmer.
The Chelsea attacking midfielder was seen leaving Stamford Bridge after the Bournemouth win on Saturday to get into what appears to be some sort of Taxi. As he walks there he is naturally followed by fans looking for autographs. Palmer has been jumped on by various people in the media and others, for not stopping to sign an autograph for a young fan.
As I explained in my article yesterday, it has always been Chelsea’s advice to the players to NOT stop for any autographs due to the safety issues around it. If a player stops, then more and more people will surround them and mob them. It becomes a dangerous situation, hence the club telling players not to sign autographs and to get to their destination as quick as possible - you see how fast Palmer is walking in that video. He was following the club protocol.
