Morning all,
I hope you had a nice weekend, bit wet in the UK eh? Can we use our hosepipes again now!? I think I got a year’s worth of water to wash my car soaked into my coat from Saturday 😂😅
Anyways, what wasn’t funny this weekend was Chelsea’s horrible performance against Tottenham. Xabi Alonso got it very wrong and has some concerning improvements to work on still. Get my initial reflections on the 2-0 defeat against Spurs here.
You can read every word Alonso said in his post-match press conference here. Although what annoys me about this is the questions asked. Not one reporter asked about the 31% possession in the game, and they all just kept circling back to Cole Palmer’s red card instead. Poor from them.
Another thing that’s really annoying me is fan fickleness. Last week Xabi Alonso was King and we were building him a statue, this week he’s the worst manager we’ve ever had and we’re walking him out of Stamford Bridge with a ‘shame’ A-board hanging over him!! I’m sick of the fan flip-flopping, it’s one of the main reasons I rarely go on X these days. Read about that here.
Away from the game, I had a BIG update out on Alex Scott to Chelsea, with some significant and progressive info in! You can read our latest sourced exclusive on that here.
As always, you can round up all your latest general Chelsea news from Sunday in the same place in our Blues News Report here.
See you all on the next Live Blog from around 8.45am today on the home page.
Peace, Si.

Everyone. Everyone was positive after the Everton match. Even outside the Chelseasphere. Words like maturity, control and balance were used. And then Spurs roll up and now we’re a bin-fire. I can cope with losing but struggle with losing to Spurs at home without scoring a goal. However. It’s still only one match of football. We Chelsea fans are still - even if unconsciously - hooked on quick fixes/ management sackings more than we perhaps realised even as many of us say we yearn for stability and for giving our manager a chance to grow. Well now is that time. We have to be with Alonso for the long haul. He will learn from this. He has to if he wants to succeed. And we can be sure he wants to succeed. Remember he’s a proud Basque who’s invested his reputation in this too by the way. He’s not simply here for the pay cheque. He’s playing for pride too.
