Enough bad decisions - accountability needed, Chalobah treatment a terrible look, Jorgensen VERY unproven, training in USA, Goalkeeper situations, Pre-season content, Enzo/RJ pressers....
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Wednesday 24th July 2024!
Morning all,
It’s been a sour few days/week as a Chelsea fan again, and we have some deep opinions out today on what’s happened/happening at the club. The fan base in general are miffed and annoyed at many things still right now.
We will start with The Score’s article from yesterday that would have arrived in your emails anyway. This is his reactions to the Trevoh Chalobah news from yesterday that he is being forced out of the club, and it then leads into other deeper issues at the club too. This here is absolutely spot on so do take a read if you haven’t already.
I basically wrote three articles in one yesterday with my reactions and opinions to a number of issues I have been seeing lately. I’ve actually tried to be calmer and more positive these last few weeks because I’m actually sick of getting annoyed by what Chelsea are doing. But this week has made that impossible yet again. Get my thoughts on many things and issues at our club in here.
Dylan has done a bit of a preview on the squad that has gone to America going through each position in here. It’s a nice little taster of what we might see these next few weeks.
Luke is next up. He has dived into pre-season as well and says NOW is the time to start making strides forward. You can read that in full here.
Oh, and the live blog from yesterday can be found in here. This includes all the latest Chelsea transfer rumours and everything else that went on throughout the last 24 hours!
There was of course the first press conference from Enzo Maresca in the early hours of this morning, and he was also joined by Reece James. Chelsea also held their first training session in USA. I’ll have the full presser transcripts on the new live blog soon this morning (until then you can watch it in full here), and more details on the training. But some key points were that it looks like Nicolas Jackson did not take part and Armando Broja played as striker in the warm up game, Christopher Nkunku was playing in the 8 position, Reece James and Malo Gusto have been playing as inverted full back, Lavia and Fofana in full training again, Caicedo has joined the squad, and much more on the blog soon!
I definitely think fans can be guilty of over reacting and being too harsh/negative. But right now, I think all the criticism I am seeing is completely warranted, and we as a fan base paying (often stupid) money each week to follow our team, have every right to be concerned about many things and voice those concerns.
I’ll be back on the live blog from around 8.30am this morning! See you all there!
Peace, Si.

Please don’t assume you speak for the “fan base,” many of us support the club and what they are doing. I am sad to see Trevoh go, but if the manager and club don’t think he fits in the project, it’s best (for him!) to go elsewhere.
