I seem to remember in Reece James early days a couple of years ago he used to take players on however that seems to have been trained out of him. In the PL in general, England in particular and Chelsea at times it has become the habit to pass sideways and backwards anything but take a player on and beat him.
back 4 solves these issues? as the roles would change and you would have wingers taking on defenders? Just need a DM for that to happen (assuming we are getting atleast 2 wingers)?
Matt Law suggested today that if we were to buy kounde, we'd play him right wing back and Reece in the back 3 in order to allow the former to adjust to the Premier league.
So a few observations - does Kounde have the attributes to play as a wing back?
Is this perhaps why he might have slipped down our list of defensive targets due to the time needed for him to adapt?
With regard to Reece's weakness in taking on a player 1v1, can you envisage us going for Traore or Hakimi?
Excellent read, Ryan!

Excellent article from Ryan Gunness.

Interesting & makes a lot of sense re James when we see him make a frustrating number of sideways & back passes in some games.
