Deadline Day reactions as it came in, Latest transfer saga is bad look for the club, Why I was confident on Jeremy Jacquet at the weekend, Full news roundups, Arsenal tonight, Much more....
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Tuesday 3rd February 2026!
Morning all,
I didn’t even realise amongst all the Deadline Day and transfer window stuff that we are now 3 days into February! After a long old year of January, we finally made it through!
Chelsea play tonight against Arsenal in the second leg of our League Cup semi-final, finding ourselves 3-2 down from the first leg. We’re still in it, and it’s only half time in the tie. Big game tonight.
It was Deadline Day yesterday and there was some bits and pieces going on. I ran the Live Blog up until 7pm last night as always - so you can cover anything that went on here.
The Jeremy Jacquet saga has been another annoying one and a bad look for the club. I explained why I had confidence of this deal being done on Sunday before the big changes happened here.
And I’ve written deeper on that, the problems we have seen with our operations, how we treat players badly and lose out on many other big transfer sagas over the last 3 years here.
Our pal CarefreeYouth also made a good point on all this in a post he put out yesterday. I’ve honed in on that here and added some more words of my own.
And there was an exclusive story we had out on Axel Disasi yesterday morning ahead of all the deadline day drama. Obviously things have all moved on since then and he’s officially joined West Ham, but if you wanted a recap, it’s here.
See you all on the next live blog from 8.45am today on the home page!
Peace, Si.
