Cup Final Day!! EXCL: Brentford keen on Ben Chilwell, Soures: New striker info!! Hugo Ekitike concerns - not the perfect profile we need, Moises Caicedo names current Blue in all time Chelsea Xl...
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Wednesday 28th May 2025!
Morning all!
Chelsea are in a European Cup final tonight! It feels good to say that. Granted, it’s the Conference League, but we have a huge chance of winning our first silverware under the new ownership, and everyone has to start somewhere. It could also be Enzo Maresca’s first trophy and in his first season at the club too, as well of the players of course.
So as easy as it was to get to the final, we should all be looking forward to the above potentially happening. Real Betis will not be easy though, that is for sure. I actually said I was more concerned about playing them than I was playing Nottingham Forest, and that point stands. This will certainly not be like the other very poor teams we have faced in this competition so far.
Either way, let’s go Chelsea!! Bring that trophy home!!
To the rest of the content now. As plenty of transfer situations seems to be heating up this week, the best place to start is the live blog from yesterday here. This covers all the general Chelsea news, transfer rumours, and everything else in between.
I had an exclusive out yesterday on the future of Ben Chilwell. As reported, there is interest from Brentford - and I have now put out the full details on that story here.
The striker noise is really ramping up as well and the name Hugo Ekitike is getting a lot of attention and links to Chelsea, as well as Liverpool. But I have concerns…. I rate him, sure, but he’s not the exact profile that we can all see that we lack and need to add up top this summer. I’ve got some words and analysis on him here.
To see where we are at with the new striker search, with brand new info on our main targets, check out my latest insider report here.
Meanwhile, Moises Caicedo has put out his best ever Chelsea Xl in some content away from transfers and games. A bit of a breather here and a very intriguing starting Xl picked by our player of the season!
I’ll have the live match discussion thread for the final as always on the Substack App but I am also going to try something a bit different for this game too. I’m going to do 15 minute updates on a fresh article - so like a live blog article of the game, where you can all get involved commenting and discussing it as well, and I’ll add video content to each update if there’s goals etc. I’ll do that instead of a full match review. So an in-game review which should capture all the emotions of the game. I’m doing this in view to starting live watch-along videos for next seasons matches….
COME ON CHELSEA!!!!!!
Peace, Si.

I think Betis will be really up for this game and after Forest it will be interesting to see our mentality which has gone missing quite a lot this season.
