Clubs lining up to sign Tammy Abraham
Blues striker is 'very likely' to ask to leave Stamford Bridge this summer
Another big Chelsea match on Saturday, and another match where Tammy Abraham does not get even a sniff of the grass.
Abraham had to make do with being a spectator again in the Manchester City win like all of us, and it appears now the frustrations are boiling over for the England international.
As our insider Dan McCarthy reported here some weeks ago now, Abraham’s Chelsea future looks bleak and a move in the summer is likely.
The Athletic have backed that report up on Monday claiming that Abraham is now ‘very likely’ to ask to leave Chelsea this summer.
They name West Ham as an interested club, but say they can only loan him unless they get Champions League football, and of course, we know Chelsea are highly unlikely to loan him unless he signs a new deal.
But he now has no desire to do that, especially after recent weeks of not even getting a look in under Thomas Tuchel.
Leicester City, Everton, Aston Villa, and AC Milan are all clubs who are showing interest in Abraham for the summer, but they will need to match Chelsea’s £40 million asking price for the striker.
I’m very disappointed that it looks to be going this way, and although I have been quite vocal about some of Abraham’s flaws and always doubted that he can be the main guy up top for us, I’ve always valued him as a very good squad player and I believe he should have been getting more chances for us over the past few weeks with games coming in thick and fast, he would certainly have a lot to offer us.
But Tuchel doesn’t fancy him, and I’m not going to bring any negativity when he is doing such a fantastic job and getting us the results, you cannot question him after this success so far, and I am sure he has his valid reasons for not using Abraham.
