As always, I tend to agree with you and all of your sentiments. That said, perhaps because I’m now in my 60s and I’ve seen it all before I need to remind everyone firstly that I’ve heard this, as other supporters of my age, all before. People forget that Ken Bates was not the most popular chairman/owner and they were even people that were negative towards Roman with his constant changing managers. It is cyclical and directly linked to success. Secondly, the world has changed. I don’t think the ownership of any other top clubs are particularly closer to their supporters these days and your example of Liverpool is spot-on. With all their success FSG are not particularly liked but with success this gets put into the background. They will be interested to see what happens at Manchester City if they do not rebuild successfully or Arsenal if they miss out on the Premier League yet again, you can already hear rumblings from their supporters. Like us they failed continually to secure that definitive number nine. I repeat as I said at the outside I agree with most of your sentiments and comments but we also need to acknowledge the world that we live in today is very different from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s and even the Roman era.
"I really believe we’re really well set up for the medium to long term for sustained success, as much if not more than any team in the PL. We just need a few more pieces in the jigsaw, and some more time and development, and we’ll get where we want to be"
One thing Fenway Sports Group has over Clearlake is their primary focus is sport and had about a decade of experience with the Red Sox before buying Liverpool.
Behdad thinks he can turn Chelsea successful using the same methods he would apply to a tech business Clearlake acquires.
I hope someone on that board is being honest about what’s going on right now.
That’s why, if Clearlake were intelligent, they would engage any involved Todd to a much greater extent as he adds that experience in sport. It’s time the two parties use their different school sets to the benefit of the club as a whole.
65 years of supporting Chelsea through good times and bad times but never felt like I do now. If it weren't for the Ladies who I watch religiously I would just call it a day. Am so disillusioned.. However forever blue
Maybe I’m old but I am so sick of hearing certain words like data. Football is played by human beings not on a sheet of paper. It has to be a balance of both. There’s things like character, loyalty, attitude, leadership etc which go to making a team.
Well said. I cannot watch the games any more. We are pathetic and these clowns are to blame. Clownlake and Eghbali. And to be perfectly honest I am not even sure about Boehly. Dark dark times ahead.
As was mentioned the other day, no one is going to listen when the fans were openly singing 'we've got our Chelsea back' and Maresca's name only 2 months ago when we were winning and now screaming we've lost our soul because we've started losing. The reality is people will laugh and say fans are fickle.
100 💯 % behind that post they’ve made no effort to to connect communicate with the fans they Blueco know nothing thing about football and the culture let’s make change happen as a fan base :-)

Spot on Mark. At times we have been as inconsistent as John Obi Mikel and he is so erratic it’s not even worth listening to anymore.
