Covering: Declan Rice Latest, Jules Kounde Advancing, Gavi To Chelsea, Broja Part Of Chelsea's Future, Chelsea Want Raphinha, Plus All The Action From Yesterday's Live Blog!
Very left of field this one! Everyone is saying sell Kepa - clearly he is too good to be playing second fiddle. We invested £72 million in this guy and despite his vastly improved form we will take a very big loss. Mendy we bought for around £20 million; if we sold him we would make a very good profit. We need the money to get Rice etc. Is Mendy better than Kepa? Probably yes, but Mendy had a bad dip mid-season - highlighted by West Ham 3 Chelsea 2. Kepa has been excellent when called upon. Business-wise might it be best to sell Mendy and keep Kepa!?
1. Please discuss merits of Kounde v Lamptey and Livramento in PL context as we have now seen the many risks of overpriced overseas players failing to perform weekly.
2. As a corollary should the extra monies "saved" go in to buy Rice.
3. Has Roman finally realised he cannot both be director of football and owner ? joke !!
For the pod,
1. What do we do if it comes between Rice or Gallagher as our new midfielder (as reported today)?
2. Thoughts on a cheeky bid for Pogba on a free?
3. What to do with Broja?
For Podcast:
• If Kepa goes, who becomes No2 - Bettenelli or a new signing?
• how many of our loanees (& which ones) could seriously become part of first team squad for next season?
• Who becomes Club Captain if Azpi goes?
What are our expectations for the summer transfer window.
Are we interested in any RWB?
Dest or other potential names?
Are we gonna finish kounde deal before the window open?
Is it true that we can have Rice/Tchouameni/Kounde for 200m?
