Chelsea LOSE to Legia! Sources: Positive Huijsen talks held YESTERDAY! Sources: CB updates, Maresca should ask JT about standards, FAN VIEW: It's shambolic, Eghbali can't pretend it's going to plan...
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Friday 19th April 2025!
Morning all,
What a bleak one it is. Things hit a new low last night as Chelsea LOST to Polish minnows Legia Warsaw in the Conference League. We still go through of course thanks for our aggregate scoreline, but the performance and result on the night was shameful and hideous.
I’ve rated the players here and given my thoughts, including some players clearly not enjoying life under Enzo Maresca. Things have turned very turmoil again and I am now seeing pretty much an entire fan base turning against the head coach as well as the decision makers at the club. They have collectively lost the fans and lost the players. This often only ever ends one way and the power and opinion of the collective fan base will always be THE most important thing at any club.
But before all of that, I had some new centre back news out and a bonus article. First of all, yesterday morning I put out the latest on new centre back targets Dean Huijsen, Jorrel Hato, and Marc Guehi in here.
But then later in the day, we got word that Chelsea had been speaking with the agents of Huijsen yesterday and talks had been positive. You can get all the latest and new info on those developments here. Something is certainly happening on this one.
The fan view article from before the game became even more apt after the game as well with fans fuming about the result and the players and manager being booed off at Stamford Bridge yet again last night. The article, titled ‘It’s shambolic, Eghbali cannot keep pretending things are going to plan’ can be found in full here.
The Score was back again with his second article for us this week and he has encouraged Maresca to attend the John Terry school of mentality and standards to help him realise the position he is in right now. A great read as always in here.
As always, I had ALL your latest Chelsea news trickling in across the last 24 hours in the live blog here. This is where you will get your drop on everything that is happening around our club right now.
Jai is recording today with Luke so the latest Podcast will be out later on. It needed to be today so they could review last night and preview Fulham on Sunday. Yikes, Fulham on Sunday….
I will be on the Substack App chat section over the weekend if I get any more big updates or news that cannot wait until Sunday when I am back on the site. Otherwise, have a good weekend all and let’s hope we can vastly improve for Sunday’s HUGE game.
Oh and for those that celebrate, Happy Easter Y’all have a good one!
Peace, Si.

God it was dreadful once again. I'm actually not going to waste my Easter Sunday watching the Fulham game, I genuinely can't take it any more. Maresca and the two sporting directors need the bullet. Nowhere near good enough
Can anyone really try and explain that result and performance as progress. Maresca is delusional.
